Privacy Policy

Deeva ("we", "us") is a virtual hairstyle try-on service available on the web and iOS. This policy describes what we collect, why, and the choices you have.

What we collect

  • Photos, portrait images, and style references you upload. Portraits and optional style-reference images are collected when you choose a photo from your library, take a photo with the camera, or upload a reference style. These images may include your face, hair, hairstyle, hair color, skin tone, and other visible features in the photo. They are used to generate your styled looks, stored privately so you can revisit your history, and never sold, shared publicly, shared with advertisers, or used to train AI models.
  • Account information. If you create an account — with email, Sign in with Apple, or Google — we store your email address and name to operate your account. You can use Deeva as a guest without an account.
  • Purchase information. Subscriptions are processed by Apple. We receive subscription status (not payment details) through our subscription-management provider, RevenueCat, to unlock your plan.
  • Usage data. Basic technical logs (such as request counts) used to enforce plan quotas and keep the service reliable.

Face data and photo use

Deeva uses the portrait photo you provide only to create hairstyle and hair-color previews that you request. We process the visible image so the selected style or color can be rendered on your own photo while preserving the rest of the portrait as much as possible. If you upload an optional style-reference image, we use that image only to guide the requested hairstyle preview.

We do not extract, collect, create, or store biometric face data from your photos. We do not collect face geometry, Face ID data, facial landmarks, biometric templates, faceprints, or face-recognition identifiers. We do not use your photos to identify you, authenticate you, recognize you across services, or build a facial-recognition profile.

What we don't do

  • We don't sell your data.
  • We don't share your photos with other users or advertisers.
  • We don't use your photos to train AI models.
  • We don't use your photos or face data for advertising, ad targeting, data brokerage, or cross-app tracking.
  • We don't use face recognition, face matching, face verification, or biometric identification.
  • We don't infer or store sensitive traits from your face, such as identity, health, emotion, race, or ethnicity.
  • We don't make your uploaded photos or generated looks public unless you choose to share a generated look.

Service providers and sharing

We rely on a small set of processors to run Deeva: cloud hosting and storage, Neon for our database, Cloudflare R2 for private image storage, fal.ai and OpenAI for AI image processing, RevenueCat for subscription status, and Apple or Google when you use their sign-in or purchase services. Each receives only what it needs to provide its function, and we require each provider to protect the data it receives with the same or equivalent safeguards.

Your uploaded portrait and optional style-reference image are shared with fal.ai and OpenAI only when needed to generate the hairstyle or color preview you requested. RevenueCat receives subscription status, not your uploaded photos. Apple and Google receive information only as needed for their sign-in or purchase services.

AI processing

When you ask Deeva to create a hairstyle or color preview, we send the portrait image, the selected style or color prompt, and, if applicable, your uploaded style-reference image to our servers and to third-party AI image providers fal.ai and OpenAI for processing. The providers return a generated preview image to Deeva. We store the input and output images privately in your library until you delete them or delete your account.

Storage

Uploaded portraits, optional style-reference images, and generated preview images are stored in Cloudflare R2. Related account, library, portrait-history, saved-look, and generation records are stored in our Neon database. We use these records to show your photo history, generated looks, saved looks, and account state inside Deeva.

Data retention and deletion

Your photos and generated looks stay in your library until you delete them or your account. Deleting your account removes your profile, photos, and generation history. To request deletion, use the app or contact us at the address below.

We retain basic technical logs only as needed to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and enforce quotas for the service. These logs are not used to create biometric identifiers or facial-recognition profiles.

Children

Deeva is not directed at children under 13.

Changes

We will update this page if our practices change, and note the new effective date above.
